1. Venchi

For chocolate lovers, we think this stop will top the list of where to eat in Hong Kong this summer! The famed gelato and dessert store was founded in 1878 by 20-year-old Silviano Venchi, who adored chocolate so much he spent all his savings on two bronze cauldrons and began to experiment with sugary treat, finally creating heavenly tastes such as Nougatine, which in which Piedmont hazelnuts are chopped, caramelised and coated in extra-dark chocolate. You can try this and a range of mouth-watering gourmet, natural treats at Pacific Place starting this summer!

2. Salvo

For those after a fresh take on contemporary men’s fashion this summer, Salvo (opening in August) is the latest one-stop shop. Founded by Scottish native Hamish Peddie, the new store brings together a curated edit of independent clothing, footwear, bags and accessories brands from around the world to Hong Kong. The offering is eclectic, progressive and mindfully selected, with a focus on labels that value sustainability codes. Brands include US-based super-soft linenwear designer Alex Crane, retro-esque British label Far Afield, premium Australian surf label Rhythm and many more.

3. Reign Abalone

Helmed by Michelin-starred chef Jean-Marc Soldati, Reign The Abalone House is an specialty shop that heroes its signature abalone sea snail. The rich culinary delicacy is naturally farmed from South African’s pristine Walker Bay in the Western Cape province, proudly using no added growth hormones, antibiotics or chemicals. The new space is the perfect place to pick up luxury gifts or to source premium ingredients, such as caviar and pre-packaged abalone, for that special at-home soirée.

4. Salisterra

OK, not exactly a new opening but a new chef with a reimagined take on the Mediterranean concept. New Executive Chef Cary Docherty originally hails from Canada, and draws on an impressive 20-plus years of culinary experience — which includes working with luminaries Gordon Ramsay and Jason Atherton — to bring a fresh vision to The Upper House. Just in time for summer, Cary has refreshed the menu with an array of new dishes that celebrate the best and brightest flavours of the season.
