When the temperature soars, few things feel better than stepping into a beautifully designed cafe or restaurant for a refreshing summer sip. To help you discover the best spots in the neighbourhood, we enlisted Hong Kong foodie Saii Lee, known for sharing his culinary adventures around town on Instagram.

Having grown up in Wan Chai, Saii shares three standout spots in his local stomping ground of Pacific Place and Starstreet Precinct — read on for refreshments perfect for sunny days.

For Coffee with a Twist: Armani/Caffè

‘Hong Kong's first Armani/Caffè in Pacific Place is a beautiful new space — sophisticated and calming, with elegant touches like the satin gold bar and soft green and blue accents. The Affogato with Pistachio Ice Cream is a must. The nuttiness of the pistachio is so aromatic, and pairs perfectly with the bold espresso. For an extra treat, pair it with the indulgent–but–not–heavy Torta Armani Cioccolato. Needing something a little stronger? Their version of a negroni infused with coffee beans has an unexpected depth of flavour.’

For a Tropical Cool-Down: Ralph’s Coffee

‘Ralph’s Coffee in Pacific Place gives off a laid-back American vibe the moment you step inside. The space feels instantly cosy and welcoming. On the menu are some limited-edition summer treats including a Mango Passion Fruit Iced Tea, which bursts with tropical flavour and is exceptionally refreshing with every sip. I paired it with a White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Lemon Cookie, and an Earl Grey Lemon Cake that blends fragrant tea notes and zesty citrus. Both were bites of summer bliss.’

For That Holiday Feeling: Blend & Grind

‘Nestled on a corner in Starstreet Precinct, Blend & Grind has a super chill vibe, with indoor and outdoor seating that invites you to linger. It feels like you’re on holiday, even if it’s just for a quick coffee break. The Iced Black Coffee with Lemon reminds me of the lemon coffee you’d get at a cha chaan teng when we were younger — but with better beans! It’s tart and bright. If you have time to linger, I’d also recommend ordering their refreshing and flavourful acai bowl.’
