The work isn’t just a seductively captivating story of a British fashion designer trying to control love – it’s shaping our current mood when to comes to everything we want to wear right now. Set in 1950s post-war London, the film is filled with old-world inspiration – think deep, rich palettes of decadent velvets and silks, intricate embroidery and petticoats, sharp tailoring, dapper bow ties and voluminous trenches cinched tightly at the waist.
