Dinner out might be currently off the menu, but there are still plenty of exciting, mouth-watering lunch spots worth celebrating. From towering burgers to soulful rice bowls and free-flow set lunches, we round up a few of our favourite Pacific Place restaurants and Starstreet restaurants to stop for a meal at right now.

1. Healthy Comfort Food to go at Black Garlic

If you’re craving healthy, Asian home-cooking, a stop at Black Garlic is a must. Based on the concept of made-from-scratch soulful rice bowls, it’s comforting, quick and warming. The mindfully sourced menu is rotating, with the choice of five different bowls on any given day. For February, look out for Consommé Beef Rib, Steamed Fish Fillet with Garlic, and Vegetarian Mapo Tofu, among many more.

2. Drunch or Dunch at TMK Rap & Rolls

Our favourite neighbourhood temakeria and sake bar is serving up both ‘drunch’ and ‘dunch’ (AKA dinner-brunch or dinner-lunch) in lieu of dinner sittings. Within a punky atmosphere inspired by the golden era of hip-hop, both menus offer a selection of their greatest hits — cue their marinated salmon West Coast Bowl, Poppin’ Ice Cream, and more. There are also free-flow options for those who are keen on kicking back with a few drinks. Drunch is available on weekdays from 11 a.m.to 6 p.m., and dunch is served from 3–6 p.m. on weekends. (And don’t forget the regular brunch options!)

3. Something for Everyone at Oolaa Petite

To ensure heading out for lunch is always an exciting affair, Oolaa Petite curates a new set lunch every two weeks. Available on weekdays from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., the menu features three starters, five mains and three desserts. If you're a burger fan, there’s a mega weekday burger set, which offers four kinds of burgers, including an Impossible patty option. Dining with a buddy? Ask about the special set lunch promotion that includes a bottle of wine. Vegan? The lunch menu caters for that too.

4. Innovative French-Cantonese Fusion at ROOTS

Celebrated chef Stephanie Wong’s intimate neighbourhood bistro ROOTS is beloved for its masterful French-Cantonese cuisine. Wong champions fresh, local produce sourced from Hong Kong’s wet markets, adds in some classic Chinese inspiration and presents each dish with a French cooking approach. Some of our favourites on the set lunch menu? Squid ‘Risotto’, Asparagus, Spring Onion and Dried Shrimp Roe and Pu Er Tiramisu. If you are missing the A La Carte Dinner Menu, it's currently available over lunchtime, too.

5. Jet-Fresh Sushi from Shiro

Craving a trip to Japan? Shiro is the next best thing. Proudly capturing the country's approach to fresh food, the restaurant serves up fan favourites such as their ramen bento boxes, sushi and sashimi platters, and share-friendly plates of tempura and teriyaki. The chef’s recommendation that can't be missed? The Scallop and Caviar with Kimchi Jelly Crystal Sushi. We'd also suggest washing it down with a signature cool green tea and a sweet note from the chef’s dessert platter.

6. Sleek & Shareable Delights at Dim Sum Library

From the Seafood Dumpling in White Pepper Chicken Soup to the Marble Goby Fish Dumpling with Diced Chilli Peppers, there’s a wide variety of choices that are perfect for sharing.
