Where Fortune Takes Flight
Pacific Place is celebrating the arrival of the Year of the Pig with an exquisite spring garden filled with vibrant kites, exclusively designed by Queenie Rosita Law in shapes inspired by traditional Chinese greetings. ‘Kites have always reminded me of having fun with my family when I was younger,’ says Law. ‘It brings back an incomparable feeling of happiness, like when you feel a kite soar in the sky for the very first time.’ Other decorations include beautiful peach blossom tunnels, with spindles that can be swirled to uncover Chinese blessings for a prosperous 2019.
Along with these interactive celebrations, PP will be offering exclusive privileges and special ‘gifts of fortune’ from 22 January–4 February with shopping vouchers up to the value of HK$3000 up for grabs.
Of course, you’ll also be able to catch a glimpse of the annual Lion Dance parade travelling around the mall on 12 February, spreading good luck and prosperity. And if performances are your thing, check out A Great Fresh Start by Heel Off The Line Dance, a dynamic local dance group. Music group Sonata Elite will also perform a selection of classical Chinese New Year songs on traditional instruments, with a contemporary twist.
