For this edition of Guest Editor’s Picks, The Style Sheet invites Louise Wong — mother, model, and winner of Elite Model Look Asia Pacific — to share some Lunar New Year fashion picks for herself and her adorable daughter Affa.
‘I would describe my normal style as boyish, but depending on my mood and where I’m going, I might wear something feminine,’ says Louise. ‘My favourite picks for Chinese New Year are Gucci’s gold single-breasted jacket and Louis Vuitton’s LV Archlight sneakers — they’re boyish but also add some glamour for Chinese New Year. Gold and red is the perfect match!’
As for her daughter Affa’s style? ‘Affa has her “princess style”, which she mixes in with her daily look every morning. For Chinese New Year, she loves Shanghai Tang’s qi pao because she thinks it’s so beautiful and colourful.’
And how do are the two celebrating the Year of the Golden Ox? ‘For Lunar New Year, me and my family usually wear a traditional Chinese outfit, like a qi pao, or something red. For this year’s celebrations, I think we’ll stay home and watch a movie, and have a nice dinner together,’ says Louise.
