Maison Margiela Presents the "Broken Mirror" Pop-Up at Pacific Place

Maison Margiela proudly presents the world's first "Broken Mirror" pop-up at Pacific Place from September 3rd to 18th, with Hong Kong being the first to debut this concept.

Cloaked in the "broken mirror" theme, fragments of broken mirrors suspended throughout the pop-up space, capturing the frozen and poetic essence of the mirror's break. The brand will showcase its iconic 5AC bags, Glam Slam bags, the new Broken Mirror Tabi, and the Metallic family.

Driven by instinct, the Maison is devoted to uncompromising creativity invigorated by values of authenticity, radicality and self-expression. The maison’s code – dressing in haste, the anonymity of the lining and the ”décortiqué” – is translated into the physical space. The decortiqué technique exposes the essential frames of an item normally hidden from view by cutting out any areas but the seams or boning, which hold it together.

Reflection of light and metallic silver hues have been integral to Maison Margiela's DNA since 1989. Creative Director John Galliano has continued to reinterpret this and seamlessly translates it into the brand's collections. The silver paint of the Tabi is cracked, while the 5AC is painted with a sponge revealing a metallic silver leather. As the mirror gradually breaks down over time, the natural calf leather underneath will be revealed, making each item a truly one-of-a-kind piece.
