#MEGA stands for #MakeEarthGreenAgain. L’OCCITANE EN PROVENCE, the leading French natural beauty brand, will present its world’s first #MEGA SUSTAINABILITY CONCEPT STORE at Pacific Place, Hong Kong on Jan 22, 2021, to invite the local community to join forces in reducing plastic waste and support local sustainable plastic economy, green NGOs/projects.
The on-site store engages the public in environmental protection in a fun way with #MEGA Sustainability Reward Program, which shoppers can earn rewards by achieving green tasks, as simply as dropping their beauty empties to the recycle bins in store (from L’OCCITANE or other beauty brands), making a green new year wish or commitment with the Tree of Wishes, or completing a 3-min personal carbon footprint evaluation, etc. Collaborating with different green groups or individuals, #MEGA SUSTAINABILITY CONCEPT STORE will regularly host a series of pop-up eco-themed workshops, in order to inspire public participation in recycling.
SUPPORT LOCAL SUSTAINABLE PLASTIC ECONOMY
L’Occitane’s eco-charity initiative recognises the urgency of reducing plastic waste. Therefore we are collaborating and supporting A PLASTIC OCEAN FOUNDATION (APO) with an upcycle project that aims to transform postconsumed plastics into rPET products. APO is a charitable organisation registered in Hong Kong, dedicated to create a wave of change to stop plastic pollution. L’Occitane has already provided 40 kg of PET collected from customers to APO for future recycling into rPET products. As of today, all L’OCCITANE boutiques in Hong Kong currently offer instore recycling. With the support from L’OCCITANE, APO has created 1,000pcs of #MakeEarthGreenAgain Sandwich Bags made from rPET and 1,500 pieces of rPET towels, made from PET plastic waste, collected by A Plastic Ocean Foundation's socially impactful recycling initiative.
Shoppers can receive a beautiful rPET Sandwich Bag^ free upon spending over HK$400 in the #MEGA SUSTAINABILITY CONCEPT STORE from Jan 28 to Feb 28, 2021.
KEEP PLASTIC OUT OF THE OCEAN

We share a vision of keeping plastics in the economy and out of the ocean. #MEGA SUSTAINABILITY CONCEPT STORE is like our invitation to the Hong Kong public to explore how we can reduce plastic pollution together.’ Nathaëlle added. ‘L’OCCITANE’s green initiative is committed: 100% of our bottles will be made from 100% recycled plastic by 2025. ‘ A friendly reminder: NO plastic bags nor paper bags will be provided in the #MEGA Sustainability Concept Store.
