Designer At Home: JJ.Acuna’s Airy Hong Kong Space

Man-about-town JJ.Acuna wears several hats: blogger, Instagram favourite and founder of JJA / Bespoke Architecture.
Hong Kong designer and blogger JJ.Acuna at the desk in his live-work studio. The lamp is by &tradition
We’re pretty sure you’ve been inside at least one of his spaces - perhaps Elephant Grounds in Starstreet Precinct or Vicky Lau’s new Tate Dining Room & Bar. But what inspiration lurks inside the home of a someone who designs acclaimed spaces for others? We visited JJ at his new live-work design studio and found out - enjoy his contemporary space that’s both put-together and relaxed, like the man himself. (Oh, and if you’re keen on the artwork, make sure to get to Art Basel in March and check out Art Informal and Silverlens, where JJ sourced some of his pieces.)
The space is accented with art sourced from galleries in Acuna’s native Philippines
The mood is mid-century, with a Louis Poulsen PH 3½-2½ table lamp setting the scene. A comfy Punto cashmere throw by Oyuna is ready for a cold day
Coffee is always on hand. The grinder and sugar bowl are from the Stelton Theo range
Natural light and greenery keep the feeling light
The entertaining area features a comfy sofa and plenty to drink
