Fluid Natural Design
Injecting sophisticated modernity to the mall’s inherent style, designer Thomas Heatherwick’s inspiration arises from his belief that sophisticated customers around the world are affiliated to fine, natural experiences. Instead of creating an architectural centrepiece or appealing to traditional icons of luxury, Thomas adopts a holistic approach – softening contours, injecting fluidity and tactile details, adopting natural wood and stone, using bronze to replace stainless steel. Thomas’ earthy approach involves meticulous attention to the improvement of vertical accessibility between the car park to shops on all floors, and opening up a pleasant piazza and a walkable skylight on Pacific Place Drive, Level 4.
