Chloé was founded in 1952 by Gaby Aghion who believed in giving women the freedom to dare to be themselves. As a Parisienne who grew up in Egypt, she possessed a bohemian spirit that rejected the stiff formality of the time. She used the savoir-faire of haute couture, twisting it to create a modern and youthful attitude. In this way, she invented luxury prêt-à-porter.
